The assistant uses the same account, the same limits and the same checks as you do when you sign in. You just type less.
Shorten anything
Paste a destination, get a short link back — with your own alias, a password or an expiry date if you ask for one, on postmylink.com or a domain you have added.
QR codes, ready to hand on
Ask for a code and get the PNG at up to 2048 pixels, the SVG and a web address for each — what a design or document tool in the same conversation needs to put it onto the flier. Colours, size and error correction to order.
Change it after printing
A QR code made from a web address points at a short link, not at the destination. Tell the assistant to point it somewhere else and every code already printed follows.
Ask about your numbers
Which link has the most clicks, where this week's came from, which browser opened them — answered from the same statistics the dashboard shows.
Tidy up in bulk
Search your links by title, alias or destination, retitle them, switch off the ones from an old campaign so the short URLs stop working without anything being deleted, or delete the ones you are done with.
Yours to switch off
You approve it once, it only ever touches your own links, and it never sees your API key or your billing. Disconnect it from your account page whenever you like.

The short answers
- What is MCP?
- The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use an outside service as a set of tools. PostMyLink publishes a remote MCP server, so an assistant that supports the standard can create links and QR codes for your account once you have connected it and approved it.
- Which assistants work with it?
- Claude on the web and desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any other client that can connect to a remote MCP server over the web. You connect it once per assistant, signing in with your PostMyLink email and approving it.
- Does it cost extra?
- No. It is part of every plan. The account does need a current plan, because every link and QR code the assistant makes counts against that plan's limits exactly as one made in the dashboard would.
- What can it not do?
- Nothing you could not do yourself, and not quite everything you can: it makes, changes and deletes links and QR codes and reads their statistics, while CSV import and export and adding a domain stay in the dashboard. It cannot see your API key, change your email or touch billing, and it cannot reach any account but the one that approved it. Everything it makes passes the same URL screening and plan limits as the dashboard.
- How do I stop it?
- Open your account page and press Disconnect next to the assistant; its access ends at once. If your plan lapses the assistant is cut off on its own, and comes back when a plan is chosen again, with no need to reconnect.
- Is there still an ordinary API?
- Yes. The REST API and the Zapier integration are unchanged. The MCP server is a third way in, for assistants, and the developer documentation covers all three.
